Tata Docomo, Reliance netconnect and now Airtel, all are fighting hard to gain market share in the GPRS section. The recent launch of Airtels new GPRS unlimited pack, in this competetive segments, speaks it all.
The ‘Ulimited package’ per say comes at Rs98 / month. When I was just about to say, very well priced and close my current reliance account, I noticed their fair usage policy, which says that we cannot exceed the 2Gb limit / month. Well honestly speaking not bad for those who want GPRS only on their mobile for minimal browsing. But for those who want to connect to and browse through the PC, I’s warn them to be careful.
There is a prerequisite that you need to activate Mobile office for your number and this can be done by dialing *567*11# , which will flash a confirmation message (yes it’ll be an IVR!). Do the Easy Reacharge part now, ie you can activate this plan by ‘Easy Recharge‘ing for Rs 98. If you do not, mind you, you’d be browsing at 30 paise / 50 Kb, because that’s the basic Mobile Office plan. The ‘Easy Recharge’ Will override this and enable your 2GB, so called ‘free’ browsing .
Those who do not have the required phone settings, message ALL to 543210.
After the free airtel internet service for cell phones in India seems to have stopped working, I guess this is the best option you can select!
